SmCo5

11.jpg1:5 samarium cobalt, also known as SmCo5, is a magnetic material made of metal samarium, cobalt or some metal praseodymium instead of metal samarium, and is made by smelting, crushing, pressing and sintering in a certain proportion. The maximum magnetic energy range of each grade is between 16-25MGOe, the maximum working temperature is 250 ℃, the maximum magnetic energy product is lower than that of 2:17 samarium cobalt magnet, but the mechanical properties and ductility are slightly better than 2:17, and it is easier to machine, and the product is not as brittle as 2:17 samarium cobalt when used, so 1:5 samarium cobalt magnet is more easy to process into the shapes that 2:17 samarium cobalt can not make, for example, blocks, rings and special shapes of various complex shapes with particularly thin thickness or walls.

In addition, the magnetizing magnetic field of the 1:5 samarium cobalt magnet can be smaller than that of the 2:17 samarium cobalt magnet. Generally, a 40,000 gauss magnetic field can be saturated, while the 2:17 high coercivity samarium cobalt magnet needs a magnetizing magnetic field of 60,000 gauss or higher. The rare earth content in the formula of 1:5 samarium cobalt magnet is nearly 40%, so the price is higher than that of 2:17 samarium cobalt magnet. When designing, users can choose to use 1:5 or 2:17 samarium cobalt magnet reasonably according to their own usage.
